Choosing a System

When looking to buy a new HVAC system, it’s good to learn about the many different options available to you. B3 Refrigeration is proud to install quality HVAC units that offer incredible value. When considering a heating and cooling system, be aware that there are multiple Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (Seer) ratings that will help you save energy and money down the road.

Air Conditioner

An air conditioner is part of a heating and cooling HVAC unit. It helps control the humidity, ventilation and temperature inside of your house.

Gas Furnace

A gas furnace is the heating part of most units. These units are usually used in colder weather climates. It converts gas to heat. Trane Gas furnaces are used to preform year after year. Trane provides furnaces that operate at 80% and also at 95% efficiency.

Heat pump

A heat pump is used to be used in heat or cool. A heat pump has usually an indoor unit and outdoor unit. They can also be used with package units. Heat pump units use refrigerant that goes through the system to the coil.

What to consider when choosing a unit:

Energy Bills:

Look for a high SEER rating, Energy Star® Certification or multiple cooling stages to keep your energy costs low.

Temperature Control:

Trane’s multi-stage cooling systems provide precision control, limit temperature spikes and keep energy costs down.

Variable Speed:

The blower motor will move at different speeds depending on how much airflow should be in your home.

High efficiency:

Find the most effective unit by comparing seer rating of each unit.

Two stage:

The compressor will have two levels of operations, In the summer it will run high and in the winter or not so hot days it will run on the low setting.

Warranty:

Trane offers a 10 year warranty on all parts and compressor. With the higher seer units, they add a couple of years for the warranty on the parts. Ask us for more details.
